How To: Leek’s

As I get more and more into the world of total and complete clean eating, I'm discovering all these vegetables that I'd never considered before.  Leeks came into my kitchen while I was making Cheddar Cauliflower Soup and I quickly realized how versatile they can be.

As I started preparing them for the soup, I noticed a ton of sand and dirt within the leaves.  This isn't alarming to me since this is an organic vegetable and I'd prefer it to be directly sprouted from the ground and on to my counter, but I'd rather not crunch on dirt, so I had to figure out a way to clean it.  Below are the steps you need to properly clean and prepare a leek.  Good luck!
